I’m Nikki, lover of Christmas, golden retrievers, and helping others with health and wellness. My husband and I have been married just shy of 10 years and we have 3 young kids that keep us on our toes. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and began a lifelong love of sports and exercise at 4 years old. After graduating high school, I attended Azusa Pacific University where I ran track and field (where are my fellow hurdlers at?!) and graduated with my Bachelor’s in Psychology.
A few years later I completed my Doctorate of Physcial Therapy (DPT) at Azusa Pacific University. During my time as a DPT student I also got married to my husband and we began our journey as a military family which has taken us to 3 different states now.
Though not required for physical therapists, I opted to complete a residency program in orthopedics which then allowed me to test for a board certification in that speciality. In 2018 I became a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and shortly before taking the exam I also became a mama.
During my sophomore year of college I broke my ankle playing basketball and unfortunately ended my track season early that year. Over that summer I went to physcial therapy and was amazed at how my PT took me from barely being able to walk to sprinting on my toes and jumping again. After that experience I finally knew what I wanted to be “when I grew up”. Thanks to the work of my PT I was able to compete in track the rest of my college years and I honestly couldn’t tell you which ankle I broke because it was rehabbed so well.
During my career I have been blessed with some amazing experiences as a clinician. I have learned from some of the best PTs around the country and have put into practice the best of what I have learned from them. I’ve worked with college and high school athletes, operators, moms, weekend warriors, and several others. I am happy to now be helping the lovely people of South Georgia!
